Adsense Tips
Adsense tips are really directed at all of those people who have their own websites and want to increase it’s profitability! That’s just about everybody these days then. You see, Google Adsense is what’s known as a PPC, or a pay-per-click program which can generate advertising revenue from each and every page of your website, taking up a minimum amount of your time and money – that sounds good doesn’t it? Just what you want.
Adsense simply delivers advertisements to your website which are relevant to your content (maybe car insurance advertisements on a website about cars for example), so that the people who visit your site might actually be interested in clicking on the advertisement thus generating you additional income, every time someone clicks onto an advertisement on your website you get a little cash for it.
Adsense Tips
Of course, there’s no end to the number of marketing “gurus” who are ready to offer their expert advice, for a price, but here are a few adsense tips which may help to make the whole world of internet marketing a little clearer.
- Keywords – is one of the major buzz words when it comes to adsense. You need good keywords, and you need a good keyword density – google of course provide you with some great tools to find the most relevant keywords (the ones which are searched for the most) and you need to get those (well, the ones which apply to your theme) onto your webpage.
- Themes – your website really needs to be based on a particular theme. Make it something you are interested in (otherwise you’ll soon get bored) but at the same time, remember that you’re trying to attract visitors so you’ll have a much smaller target audience if your only passionate about medieval folk dancing - because not many other people are searching for it. If you have a genuine interest in your theme though, you’ll soon become an expert at writing about it so that helps
- New Pages – one really good tip is to write a new web page every day (hey, I thought this wasn’t supposed to be time consuming!) – Okay, but you only get out of things what you put into them, and the more interesting stuff you add to your website, the more visitors you can attract, and the more visitors you attract . . . get the picture?
- Location, location, location – what do you do when you click onto a new website? Well, if you’re like the majority of other people, you quickly scan the headlines to see if you can be bothered to read on, so make sure that you grab your visitors attention quickly, if you keep their interest they’ll keep on reading and look for any navigation links. Your adsense advertisements should be prominently placed near the top left portion of the page, where your visitors will look first.
- Number of Adsense Links – you need to get the balance right. Nobody is interested in a few lines of text and then being bombarded with loads of advertisements, but if you have plenty of interestingtext then you can have more adsense units on the page.
- Use of Color - although you do want the Adsense ads to stand out on your web page, you don’t want them to look completely out of place and spoil the whole appearance of your website do you? It’s really best to choose a color scheme which blends well into the color scheme of your website.
Adsense Tips – What NOT To Do
You might be tempted to try and short cut or otherwise manipulate Adsense on your website, but there are some real no-no’s which you must not do:
- never click on your own ads – naughty naughty, you will get sussed
- never ask your pals to click on your Google ads
- never attempt to change an Adsense code yourself
- never put Adsense advertisements on websites which include prohibited material (adult sites for example)
